About Nancy Young Harte, Artist and Interior Designer
A natural born artist and designer, Nancy’s art/design career started at age 5 when she asked her mother to paint a life size carousel on her bedroom wall – the first time her love of art and design was displayed in a room. Her interest in painting continued in the form of professional lessons and she eventually ended up studying the Old Masters Techniques in Paris, France.
A strong focus on art in junior high and high school led her to North Texas State University where she studied drawing, painting, printmaking, design and art history. She continued her education at SMU Southern Methodist Universe where she studied studio arts. Her love of painting continued throughout college which led her to a desire to improve her techniques and study in Paris, France. There she learned the old masters techniques including the specialized trompe l’oeil technique, large scale murals and exotic faux finishes.
Her love of travel combined with her art and Nancy started her own design company – decorating homes for private clients as well as commercial spaces.
She has completed projects throughout the United States, Europe, Mexico, the Caribbean and Africa.
