About Nancy Young Harte, Artist and Interior Designer
A natural-born artist and designer, Nancy's art/design career started at age 5 when she asked her mother to paint a life-size carousel on her bedroom wall – the first time her love of art and design was displayed in a room.
Her interest in painting continued through professional lessons, and she eventually studied Old Masters Techniques in Paris, France. Learn more about nyharte Art and Design.
A strong focus on art at North Texas State University, where she studied drawing, painting, printmaking, design, and art history.
She continued her education at SMU, Southern Methodist Universe, where she studied studio arts. Her love of painting continued throughout college, which led her to a desire to improve her techniques and study in Paris, France. There she learned the old masters' techniques, including the specialized trompe l'oeil technique, large-scale murals, and exotic Special Finishes.
Her love of travel combined with her art, and Nancy started her own design company – decorating homes for private clients and commercial spaces.
She has completed projects throughout the United States, Europe, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Africa.
